Sunday the 23rd the Burson Auto Parts Machine
raced round 2 of the Central Coast Championship.
After finishing 2nd in heat 1 the 95 machine pilot dominated
heats 2 & 3 taking Victory.
Being the highest points driver heading into the Feature race
Jake just needed a descent finish to take the overall round win.
On the roll up laps the 95 kart slowed & came to a holt on the
back straight ,leaving the Mummysboy underwear driver
no option but to retire from the Final.
Jake had still scored enough points to pick up 3rd place
for the day.Disapointed with the way the day had endered
the team know that both driver & kart have good speed once again
setting the quickest lap time of the day.
The team hope to make up it in 2 weeks when they head to Nepean Speedway
on April 6.
Cold day at the Creek
March 2 had Jake running on tar for the 1st time in 2014.
Not the race meeting we had hoped for, with 3 dnf's.
Each start the 95 kart got off the line really well with Jake
passing lots of karts only to have issues after a couple of laps.
Bad weather had put a dampner on the weekend but the team
will be back better & faster next time.
Season Starts with a Bang
Gosford Speedway held Round 1 of the Championship
on Sunday the 23rd Feb & the INOX/Burson Auto Parts 95 Machine raced
for the 1st time in its New colors.
Winning 2 races & picking up a 2nd in the 3rd heat
which had Jake on high points going ito the feature event.
Starting at the rear of the grid he made his way into P5 when the Kart got
loose spinning backwards into the showground wall.
Jake took a hard lick & had a sore neck from the impact.
He had scored enough points to finish 2nd overall & we know that there
are good times ahead as we still belive there is room for improvment.
Kurri Kurri Report
Jake showed enough speed at Kurri Speedway
but being buried in the middle of the pack
for the 1st two heats didnt allow him to show
the speed we belived he had.
After finishing with a 5th in heat one then an
impressive 3rd in heat two, Jake would start out
of 11 in the feature.
After some crazy crashes at the start of the race
Jake made his way into P4 by lap 14 when he was
clearly being held up by a slower kart.
Unable to get past straight away which allowed the closing
pack to squeeze past him leaving him to settle in 6th place.
Overall Jake scored some good points toward the
Club Championship vfinishing in the top 3 in points.
Tough Day but Still manages 2nd
Last Saturday Jake competed at the NSW Speedway
Kart Title @ Kurri Kurri Speedway.
After dramas all day in both the Junior Light class &
the Junior Heavy class Jake & the team found a way
to find some speed in the Final of the Heavy Class.
We always new it was going to be a tough assignment
to make the podium in the light class considering the
weight difference, but Jake gave his best all day, but with
the dramas around Carby issues & a broken header pipe
by the time the finals came around the team was just hoping
to make the podium if possible.
Come the main race Jake had to work extremely hard during
the 15 lap final & at mid distance was still sitting in 4th place,
but he put his head down & powered past 3rd & set out after P2.
Jake was able to muscle his way past on lap 10 but the number
75 of Matt Geering was too far gone for he to make any challenge
to the leader.
After a tough day allround we can say that we are quite pleased
to be taking home 2nd place in Junior Heavy & will hopefully be able
to make a better go of it come the Australian Title at Gosford Showground
come September this year.
Back To Back Wins
Over the last two weekends Jake was
able to secure back to back round wins.
Sunday the 18th May he took the Inox Lubricants
95 machine to Victory lane winning 4 from 4 at
May 25 saw Jake Win at Nepean Speedway for
round 5 which was the 1st round for the NSWSKC
at nepean for season 2014 due to washouts.

heats 2 & 3 had the 95 kart finishing in the P2 spot,
While he carved his way through the field from P13
to finish a close 2nd in only 12 laps.
Jake won the Junior National class for the day also
picked up the Scott Darley Achievement of Exellence
Award for top point scorer in the Club as well as the Team
Award with Dan Sayre for total team points.
Strong performance at Hoosier Classic
Sunday the 22 June had the 95 machine competeing at Nepean
Speedway for the re run of the Hoosier Classic.
Jake mad a strong start to the day with a 3rd place finish in heat 1
after starting out of P9.
Heat 2 once again he scored a 3rd place finish.
3rd heat had Jake pressuring 2nd place only to get tripped up by
a sun kart on the last lap which saw him relegated to a 4th place finish.
Come the feature race the team had made some changes & Jake was
ready to do his thing.Starting out of P9 Jake knew he had to some early
moves to try & get to the front in Just 12 laps.
He made a great start to the race going around the outside of turns 1 & 2
to come out in 4th place by the end of lap one.
From there he worked over the remaining drivers until he passed the
74 Kart for the lead with 6 laps to go,building a lead was his plan & it was
looking good until a last lap yellow closed the field up once again.
On the restart Jake put the hammer down & was never headed & went on
to Win the Feature race.
Jake Wins Alan Hann Memorial Race
Last Sunday 13/7 Jake was able to secure one the most sort after
trophies for the season taking home the Alan Hann trophie for highest
points for the day Winning all 4 races in a dominating display.
Jake was in red hot form from the time he got in the kart.
The only thing holding him back was the amount of cautions in each
race which of cause brought him back to the field each time he had
made a break. But to his credit he just put his head down on every restart
& was able to pull away once again.
At one stage he had to a avoid a spinning kart in turn 1 which I must say
took some great skill & was praised by officials.
Even breaking his toe before the Feature race [off track mishap] did'nt
stop him charging to the front to take the race & the overall result.
Jake Wins The SHOOTOUT
Another weekends racing for Jake & the 95 Machine.
Jake guided the INOX Lubricants machine to Victory lane
for the 19th time this season Winning the Shootout at a
very icy cold Gosford Showground.
Facing some of the quickest speedway drivers in the State
Jake powered to two heat wins & only missed a 3rd heat
win by 0.071secs after passing some tough competition
finishing a close 2nd.
Onto the money race, & a strong start by the #9 kart of
Luke Sayre wasn't enough to prevent Jake leading the entire
20 laps & take home 1st place.
Jake lead home the Sayre brothers from Aussie Racing,
Plenty of Speed onBoard the new #1
Sunday the 2nd of November the team travelled to Nepean Speedway
for the 3rd last round of the Club Championship.
Coming from the back of the pack in heat 1 Jake carved his way through
the traffic to finish an impressive 3rd place .
Heat 2 Jake went on to record Win # 25 for season 2014 equalling his
previous season best of 2012.
Heat 3 jake was highest points & started P1, Former Australian #1
Marcus Dumsney was able to pass Jake mid race & would go on to
win the heat with Jake in 2nd. Once we returned to the pit we reliased
that the right rear had gone flat.
Feature time & Jake was still the highest point leader so he had to start from
the rear of the pack,. He started well making up a few spots on turn 2 only
to be turned around by someone in turn 3, funny how it was'nt seen by any
official. Jake was now in last place & more than 1/2 a lap behind.
He raced as hard as he could but could only manage to pass 5 or 6 karts by races end.
Even though he finished down the order he still managed enough points to finish on
the podium in 3rd place.
Aussie Title for Jake & the 95 Team
Jake won the 2014 Junior National Light AKA Australian title Sunday 14/9.
Starting from pole for the Title race Jake was pushed all the way by Aussie Racing
junior driver andrew Sayre #99.
The team went retro this weekend with the old Kyle Busch livery which caused
much debate for the 95 team in 2012.The team wanted redemption for 2012.
Even with a late caution he held his composer& went on to set the fastest lap of the race on the
last lap.Jake pumped his fist as he crossed the line
& celebrated in style power sliding the kart one handed
while holding the chequered flag.
One hour later Jake was also able to pick up a 3rd place
in Junior heavy final after a 3 way fight for the Title.
Jake's good friend Mat Geering from C & A Mobile
racing went on to claim the heavy Title.
Class Championship for Jake
Sunday the 9th Of November Jake secured the Junior National Pro
Class Championship with One round in hand.
Jake raced to 3 out of 4 Wins on Sunday at Gosford Showground
& could have had a perfect round of 4 from 4 only to be penalized
in the feature race for contact of kart.
The Mummys boy underwear driver needs to get on top of these
feature races as this is the 2nd time in two weeks he has been
affected in the last race of the day.
The speed of the Stones Kart Sport power plant was there
for all to see as Jake made his way to the front fairly quickly in
each of the races.
Jake's race Win tally for the season now stands at 29 after the
3 wins on Sunday and now see's his career total raeach
Jake has two big rounds left this season both at his home track
of Nepean Speedway. He will be looking for some strong results
